"Rollei RPN is an excellent general usage paper developer. With normal dilution I find that it produces a consistent neutral tone on a variety of papers from everyday Kentmere to more exotic Bergger, for example. It has superb keeping qualities in part used bottles in its undiluted state, easily 6 months or more in relatively stable storage, no warmer than @22 C. and in working strength solution I found that it keeps all day in a tray and is still very lively, though I don't put more than 20-30 prints through it. (You can always do factorial development to compensate for developer as it gets used).
I have been printing for 36 years and I really like this paper developer for its neutrality, keeping properties, consistency and the paper tones well afterwards.
I prefer it to the standard Ilford Multigrade developer, which I find produces a greenish warm tint that doesn't tone so well, although I have used Ilford PQ Universal for many years previously which I find very good, but it is now supplanted by the Rollei RPN in my darkroom.
Thank you."
