Product Description
Kodak Xtol is a real alternative to the current industry standard product of ID11 or D76.
Its advanced formulation delivers speed, sharpness, and grain improvements for photographers while offering processing benefits to education users.
Kodak Xtol developer uses ascorbic acid as the active ingredient rather than hydroquinone. It will produce negatives with enhanced image structure from all black-and-white films. The two-part developer has the cost, packaging, and transport benefits of a powder. The developer's unique chemical formula allows much simpler mixing of working solutions. This is the real improvement over ID11 or D76 as it mixes at room temperature (20 degrees C) not 40 degrees like its predecessors. It can also be used to replenish working-strength developer.
It is suitable for most professional black-and-white films giving very high image quality at full emulsion speed.
Being a powder it has all the advantages of D76 or Perceptol e.g. good shelf life (six months after mixing when stored in full bottles) and a high resistance to breakdown from oxidation during storage or in replenished processes with less waste too.
