The Fluorescent SL044K is the head to choose when you want cool, daylight balanced (5400K) lighting. It also offers a slightly higher output than the tungsten lamp. Its 6000 hour lamp life and the fact there is virtually no heat produced while only consuming 100 watts of electricity make it the ideal modern lighting choice. The head comes with 30cm flood reflector making it great for still life shots or portraiture.

These heads now include (new for 2011) 135W fluorescent lamps which are equivalent to 675 Watts of tungsten lamp making them both powerful and great value-for-money. Paterson also is the only lighting company that views their cool lights as a complete system. Because they can accept softboxes, snoots or narrow reflectors they are infinitely versatile meaning you can use them not in the studio but also for website product shots, copy work and even videography. Two lower wattage bulbs can also be used with this head (70W and 30W) when less power is needed.
