Product Description

All fine art photographers and printers know that washing is as important as any part of the picture taking and making process. Nova has succeeded in designing and manufacturing a range of archival washers that, with the minimum amount of water, wash your valuable prints properly.

The process of removing unused fixer and/or silver/thiosulphate compounds is mandatory to avoid print deterioration caused by insufficient washing. That is why we particularly like the Nova Washmaster Eco range.

Put simply, they wash prints quickly, safely and correctly. This 5-slot washer acts as five individual washers in one with no risk of cross-contamination. The spiralling vortex system of water jets gently but efficiently disperses the harmful salts over both sides of the print and then into an outlet weir. Typical washing times for a maximum size 12 x 16-inch fibre print is only 20 minutes if pre-washed in Hypo Clearing bath (wash-aid). Hard-water areas may even be quicker than this.

Constructed of robust, high grade acrylic, it has five independent running water wash slots PLUS a special single static wash aid slot which can serve 3 different purposes depending upon your needs...

Wash Aid Slot - Its main purpose is to accommodate Wash Aid in its space-saving vertical construction and in turn, significantly reduce wash time by around 50%
Rapid Pre-Wash Slot -This slot can also be converted to run as an isolated rapid pre-wash Slot using the optional Washmaster-ECO Upgrade kit
6th Additional Washing Slot - This slot can be converted to another running water washing slot with the additional purchase of our Washmaster-ECO Upgrade Kit.

"The Nova Washmaster Eco is a 'best in class' product, and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. It took many years before I could justify the expense to myself, but it certainly beats washing prints in the family bath if you want to produce archival prints. The relatively limited number of slots suits my ponderous way of working: I aim to make perfect prints of just a couple of images per session, and don't even expect to get it right until the next session, after I've seen the dried prints. I do find it necessary to run a tray print washer (e.g. Paterson, or Kodak try siphon) alongside the Nova Washmaster Eco, in order to keep test strips on hand and viewable while perfecting the final print. If I was churning out prints any faster this washer would clearly be way too small. Despite being overall pleased with my purchase, I can't give the Washmaster Eco five stars because it isn't perfect: there are a few things I'd like to suggest to the manufacturer if only I could find contact details. Maybe Firstcall (fantastic friendly fast service, excellent communication) can put me in touch?"

Delivery

Most orders incur a total order delivery charge of £7.99 including VAT for mainland UK delivery. All goods are shipped by courier services.
