Product Description
Ilford Multigrade FB Warmtone black and white enlarging paper incorporates an emulsion based on the latest generation of sensitising technology developed by scientists at Ilford worldwide headquarters in Mobberley, Cheshire. This fibre based, premium quality, variable contrast black and white paper is part of the Ilford Multigrade system and is fully compatible with all existing Multigrade filters and equipment. It has a warm, velvety black image colour on a creamy white base, which gives excellent handling characteristics during processing and a quality feel to the finished print.
You process it using the same method as other fibre-based papers and it is extremely responsive to a wide range of toners including sepia, selenium and sulphide at a range of dilutions. You can readily achieve subtle colour changes or effects that are more dramatic. Polysulphide and selenium toners will give especially good results.
Multigrade FB Warmtone is suitable for use with most enlargers; that is, those fitted with either a tungsten or tungsten halogen light source. It is also suitable for use with cold cathode light sources developed for variable contrast papers. It is available in double weight 1K glossy in a full range of sizes and 24K semi-matt too.
We are very impressed with the quality of the image results you can achieve and would strongly recommend you try this paper. When compared to Fineprint Warmtone we think you will agree that Ilford has the edge!
If you like the idea of Warmtone but can do without the hassle of washing and drying fibre paper, remember you can now have the same results by opting for Warmtone resin coated paper.
