Product Description

The primary silver salt used in black and white photographic films and papers. It is also used in Kallitype and Van Dyke Brown printing, emulsion making and is a main ingredient of Printing Out Paper.

Please note that it may cause staiings on your fingers which can be removed by rubbing with tincture of iodine followed by a solution of strong hypo. Wear a dust mask when working with the powder, and gloves when working with either the powder or as a solution.

Stable at room temperature in sealed containers. Discolous on exposure to light. Also called Lunar caustic, Nitrate of silver or Nitric Acid.

The molecular formula is AgNO3
