Product Description
Kaiser has designed its FilmCopy Vario for the exact positioning of slides and negatives (of various formats) for when you want to use your camera, while mounted to a copy stand or tripod, to convert your images to a digital format.
Typically, to use the FilmCopy Vario, you would place it on top of a light panel, like the KaiserPlano.
Use it for standard single 35mm mounted slides or individual 35mm negative frames. If you use built-in the guide ridges of the unit, you can also use it for negative strips (up to 6 exposures) strips.
In addition to this standard configuration, you can purchase optional masks, which fit into the device, if you want to copy 6 x 4.5 cm, 6 x 6 cm, 6 x 7 cm or 6 x 9 cm film formats. These are all the standard masks that go into a Kaiser enlarger, so if you own one, you may already have them.
The base has stop pins which adjust for the different masks.
Mounted 35 mm slides can be placed directly from above on the device, but you have to open the frame to use film strips. Also included is an overlay mat (10 x 8 inches) which serves as a protection against any stray light.
Weight of FilmCopy Vario (w/o masks, w/o overlay mat): approx. 600 g (1.3 lbs.).
