PermaJet Smooth Pearl 280gsm

PermaJet Smooth Pearl 280 is a premium resin-coated inkjet photo paper with a refined pearl finish and a slightly warm, natural white base. Designed to reproduce smooth skin tones, deep blacks and a wide tonal range, it is particularly well suited to portraiture, landscapes, monochrome photography and fine art reproduction. Its understated pearl surface gives prints a luxurious photographic feel without the stronger reflections of traditional gloss papers.

Why We Like It

The slightly warm base is what really sets Smooth Pearl 280 apart. Rather than the very bright white used by many modern photo papers, its more natural tone is particularly flattering for skin and works beautifully with landscapes, historic photographs and images where you want a slightly softer, more traditional character.

The smooth pearl surface is another strong point. It gives colour plenty of richness and depth while keeping reflections under control, and the excellent Dmax allows blacks to remain deep and convincing. That combination makes it equally useful for colour and monochrome work. It is also a particularly good option for photographers who remember and liked the character of the original Ilford Smooth Pearl.
