PermaJet Portrait Rag 285 is a premium 100% cotton rag fine art inkjet paper with a classic matt finish, subtle surface texture and medium white base. Its excellent Dmax produces deep, velvety blacks, while the wide colour gamut and excellent tonal definition make it particularly well suited to portraits, weddings and landscapes. The 285gsm cotton base gives finished prints a substantial fine art feel, with archival qualities suited to photographs and artwork intended for long-term display.

Why We Like It

Portrait Rag 285 is a lovely choice when you want the character of a fine art paper without a heavy texture competing with the photograph. There is just enough surface detail to give a print depth and a tactile quality, while fine details, delicate skin tones and subtle tonal transitions remain beautifully defined.

Despite the name, we would not restrict this paper to portraiture. Its ability to produce particularly deep blacks for a matt paper makes it an excellent option for black and white photography, while the medium white base gives colour work a natural appearance.
