The Negative Supply Simple 35 & 120 Film Scanning System is an affordable and highly capable entry point into camera scanning for both 35mm and medium format film. Designed for photographers who want a faster and more flexible alternative to traditional scanners, this modular system combines Negative Supply's latest MK2 film carriers with the 4x5 Light Source Basic MK2, allowing you to scan full rolls or cut strips of film quickly and efficiently using your own digital camera and macro lens.
This system includes the film carriers, light source and stabilising masks required for scanning 35mm and 120 film, but you will need to supply a digital camera, suitable macro lens, and either a copy stand or tripod to complete your setup.
The Basic Film Carrier 35 MK2 supports half-frame, standard 35mm and panoramic formats using the included masks, while the Basic Film Carrier 120 MK2 includes masks for 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7 and 6x9 formats. Both carriers mount directly to the included stabilising masks, which secure them to the 4x5 Light Source Basic MK2 while blocking stray light for improved scan quality.
The system can be expanded with optional accessories including the 35mm Full Border Scanning Cassette, alternative film format cassettes, scanning hoods and larger Negative Supply scanning systems.
This kit strikes an excellent balance between affordability and capability. You get dedicated carriers for both 35mm and 120 film, meaning there is no compromise when switching between formats. The improved double S-curve film path design keeps film flatter, advances more smoothly and reduces drift compared to earlier systems. Combined with the bright, colour-accurate 4x5 Light Source Basic MK2, it provides a scanning experience that is fast, repeatable and capable of producing excellent results without the complexity or expense of a full professional setup.
