The Negative Supply 8mm/Super 8 Film Scanning Cassette adds movie film scanning capability to compatible Negative Supply 35mm film carriers. It is designed for photographers, archivists and filmmakers working with Super 8 and 8mm film, giving these classic moving image formats a place within a modern camera scanning workflow.
Super 8 and 8mm film have been used for decades of home movies, family archives, student films and independent projects. This cassette allows those films to be photographed and digitised using a compatible Negative Supply carrier, making it easier to preserve and revisit older footage frame by frame.
The cassette uses a double S-curve design to help keep film flat during scanning, while micro-etched acrylic supports the film from below. This helps hold the film in a consistent position for sharp, repeatable captures.
It works best with longer strips of film, ideally 6 inches or longer, for smoother handling and more efficient scanning.
System Compatibility Notes
The Negative Supply 8mm/Super 8 Film Scanning Cassette requires the Basic Film Carrier 35 MK2, Pro Film Carrier 35 MK2, or original Pro Film Carrier 35. The required carrier is sold separately. On the Pro Film Carrier 35 MK2, the advance mechanism will not advance Super 8 or 8mm film unless used with the separate Super 8 Film Advance Module, which is sold separately.
