Kodak Eastman Professional Ektachrome E100 is a daylight-balanced colour reversal film that produces beautiful positive transparencies with exceptionally fine grain, vivid colour and a neutral tonal balance. With an ISO 100 sensitivity, it is an excellent choice for landscapes, nature, fashion, studio and commercial photography where colour accuracy and fine detail matter.
Unlike colour negative film, Ektachrome E100 produces a positive image on the film itself after E-6 processing. The resulting transparencies can be viewed on a lightbox, projected using suitable equipment or scanned to create high-resolution digital images.
There is something special about seeing your photographs as finished colour transparencies. We love Ektachrome E100 for its combination of vibrant colour, clean whites and incredibly fine grain. Its balanced contrast and accurate colour make it a particularly appealing choice for landscapes, detailed subjects and anyone who enjoys the distinctive experience of shooting slide film.
Ektachrome E100 is a colour reversal film, which means it produces positive transparencies rather than colour negatives. Once processed, you can view the photographs directly on a lightbox or project them with suitable equipment, making slide film a uniquely rewarding way to enjoy analogue photography.
Ektachrome E100 combines vivid colour with a neutral tonal scale for accurate, natural-looking results. Its relatively low contrast helps preserve smooth tonal transitions, while its low minimum density (D-min) contributes to bright, clean whites in the finished transparencies.
Its micro-structure optimised T-GRAIN emulsion delivers an extremely fine grain structure and excellent image clarity. The smooth grain profile makes Ektachrome E100 particularly well suited to high-resolution scanning, allowing you to capture fine detail from your transparencies.
With a nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21deg. and a daylight colour balance, Ektachrome E100 is particularly well suited to bright outdoor scenes and controlled studio environments. Its balanced tonal response makes it a versatile option for photographers who want precise colour reproduction.
Manufactured by Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, Ektachrome E100 is part of the Kodak Eastman still photography range. Drawing on Kodak's long heritage in film manufacturing, the range brings professional photographic films to today's analogue photographers.
