PMK is a unique, 2-part universal film developer.

The original formula for PMK was created by Gordon Hutchings, to be able to process as many modern films, with as wide a range of shooting conditions, as possible. Now Made in Germany, it exhibits the following characteristics in use :

  • Great sharpness.
  • Very fine grain.
  • Yellow staining (Pyro) of the negative. Pyro is often perceived as offering the best quality result ever for processing a negative, but staining intensity depends on the reduced silver quantity.
  • Very low fog.
  • Stability of the stock solutions.
  • Process repeatability.

When processing, we suggest using an alkaline fixer, like our Softpack RXN, to obtain the best negative stain, and the best stability in time. A water stop bath may also help is keeping the stain.

PMK's two-part solutions have a very long shelf life if they are not mixed. This, and the fact that you can process practically any modern black and white film makes it a perfect choice for knowing your film developer will work for your film choice.

You get two bottles - 250ml and 500ml and in standard dilution (1+2+100), the PMK kit will make 25 litres of working solution.

For Jobo rotary processor users, we recommend the Roto additive for PMK to retain the full effects of the developer.
