Colorama have the answer with Colorama Paper Edge, a simple dual purpose device that prevents waste, keeps a neat end to the roll and also provides a ripple reducing weight for straight hung backgrounds.

It comprises a two piece metal strip that clamps onto the free end of the paper roll; perfect for keeping hanging backgrounds taut. Placed above the marked or damaged area, it allows you to tear off unusable paper without wastage, leaving a neat, protected free edge that is easier to position than a curled back loose end.
