Part of our Eco Range of developing chemicals, that we specially created for safer use in schools and colleges, this universal darkroom film developer is ascorbic acid based, hydroquinone free and features easy-mixing. It combines fine grain and full use of film speed and produces very sharp negatives enhancing shadow contrast and improving highlights detail.

It's suitable for developing most black and white films and the times for development can be found in our info section https://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk/userfiles/file/film_dev_timing_chart_2019a.pdf

It produces fine grain and sharpness, is mildly compensating and produces good results on highlights.
In using it we found it worked in a very similar way to Kodak's Xtol bith in development time and results.

The concentrate dilutes 1 + 1 for reuseable solutions or 1 + 3 with water for one-shot (disposable) use.

Please note that Eco developers may be delivered as red/orange or yellow in colour.

The reason for this depends on two factors:

 1) Exposition to the light of products with ascorbic acid/dimezone is yellow at first when it is just mixed and bottled. Afterwards, it can become orange/red, but it does not affect the efficiency of the product (you might also find this on Neutol chemicals, for example, or with Bellini Eco Paper and Xtol Kodak once dissolved)

 2) Dimezone S presence of coloured molecules inside the product can sometimes appear in powder from white to deep orange. Alternatively, it can change the deep orange one to become like a red wine colour once dissolved.

This colour change doesn't affect the developer's efficiency or performance.

Most orders incur a total order delivery charge of £9 including VAT for mainland UK delivery. All goods are shipped by courier services.
