Harman Switch Azure 125 is a creative 35mm colour negative film designed to transform everyday scenes into something unexpected. By altering the way colour channels are recorded, the film produces unusual colour shifts where blues can appear orange, yellows turn vibrant azure, and reds take on purple or blue tones. Processed in standard C-41 chemistry and supplied in a DX-coded 36-exposure cassette, it offers an accessible way for experimental photographers to explore bold, surreal colour effects.
This is a film that encourages you to experiment and see familiar scenes in a completely different way. Harman Switch Azure deliberately alters colour relationships so that ordinary subjects become striking and slightly surreal. Blue brickwork, cyan bananas, purple-tinted sunsets and unusual skin tones are all part of the fun. It is particularly enjoyable for street photography, travel, and creative projects where you want images that stand out.
Because the colour shifts depend on the colours already present in the scene, results vary from frame to frame, which is part of the appeal. Shooting outdoors in bright daylight tends to produce the most dramatic effects, and metering for the mid-tones usually gives reliable results. If you are trying the film for the first time, a little exposure bracketing is worthwhile so you can see how the colours respond in different lighting conditions.
The film processes in standard C-41 chemistry, so it can be developed alongside any normal colour negative film at most labs. When scanning, results can vary depending on the scanner and software used. Many photographers find that scanning as a reversal and then inverting in software gives the most consistent colour balance. Either way, it is a playful film that rewards experimentation.
