The Reveni Labs Light Meter MK2 is an extremely small digital light meter designed for film photographers who want accurate, simple metering without adding bulk to their camera. Measuring just 24.4 x 24.6 x 25.1mm and weighing only 14g, it mounts neatly into a camera’s hot shoe or cold shoe, making it a practical companion for classic film cameras without built-in meters.
Despite its tiny size, the Light Meter MK2 offers centre-weighted reflective metering, aperture or shutter priority modes, exposure compensation, whole, half or third stop increments, a bright OLED display and a rechargeable NiMH battery. It is a clever, compact solution for photographers who want a modern meter that feels at home on vintage cameras.
The Reveni Labs Light Meter MK2 is wonderfully small, but still feels genuinely useful rather than gimmicky. It gives you clear exposure readings, simple controls and enough flexibility to suit a wide range of cameras. The rechargeable battery is a welcome improvement over earlier small meters, and the integrated shoe mount keeps everything neat and easy to use.
The Light Meter MK2 is incredibly compact, measuring under 25.1mm in each direction and weighing only 14g. It is designed to sit in the camera’s accessory shoe without making your setup feel bulky, making it especially useful for smaller 35mm film cameras.
The meter uses ambient reflective metering with a 45-degree sensor field of view. This centre-weighted approach is well suited to everyday photography and gives a practical reading from the scene in front of the camera.
A crisp OLED display shows the calculated aperture and shutter speed clearly. The MK2 also includes an EV display option for photographers who want a more detailed exposure value readout before choosing their settings.
The Light Meter MK2 can be used in either aperture priority or shutter priority mode. Select the value you want to control, and the meter calculates the matching exposure setting. This makes it easy to work around depth of field, motion blur or the available settings on your camera.
The meter can be set to whole, half or third stop increments, allowing it to better match the controls on different cameras and lenses. Exposure compensation is also available in 1/3-stop steps, with a range of -2 to +2 stops.
The MK2 uses a rechargeable NiMH battery charged via Micro-USB. The battery level can be viewed in the menu, and low battery warnings let you know when it is time to recharge.
The integrated flash/accessory shoe mount allows the meter to attach directly to many cameras with a hot shoe or cold shoe. It can also be used off-camera by pointing it manually at the subject or scene, with lanyard holes on both sides for added security.
