DragonFilm No. IV Black and White Film ISO 400 135-24
DragonFilm No. IV is a high-speed black and white 35mm film originally manufactured in Ukraine for aerial surveillance work. With a recommended rating of ISO 400 and an impressive usable range from ISO 100 to ISO 1600, it offers bold contrast and pronounced grain, with a look reminiscent of classic fast films such as Kodak Tri-X.
Why We Like It
This film has real attitude. DragonFilm No. IV is packed with silver, and it shows in the negatives, delivering strong contrast and a gritty grain structure that works beautifully for documentary-style photography, street work, and expressive low-light shooting. Rated at ISO 400 it is already punchy, but pushing the film rewards you with even more grain and contrast, ideal if you enjoy a raw, energetic aesthetic. The thin PET base needs a little extra care when loading, and it should always be handled in subdued light due to light piping. Once processed, the film dries remarkably flat, which makes scanning at home far easier than many traditional thick-base films.

Handling note: This film does not have a DX code and is not suitable for some automatic cameras. ISO must be set manually. Due to its sensitivity to light piping, loading and unloading should always be done in subdued light. Take extra care when loading, as the PET base is thinner than many conventional films.
